Frequently asked questions

AED 4,000/month for male sponsors, OR AED 3,000/month if your employer provides accommodation. Female sponsors need AED 10,000/month (or AED 8,000 + accommodation). The profession-based restriction was removed in recent updates.

Yes, but the salary threshold jumps to AED 20,000/month (or AED 19,000 + 2-bedroom accommodation). Both parents must be sponsored together — single-parent exceptions are granted only in narrow cases (death, divorce, etc.). Mandatory medical insurance for elderly parents typically runs AED 2,000-8,000+ per year per parent.

Realistic range: AED 3,000-5,000 per dependent for the visa process (entry permit AED 500-1,200 + medical AED 320-700 + Emirates ID AED 270-390 + visa stamping AED 500-750 + mandatory insurance AED 600-1,200/year). Elderly parents cost more due to higher insurance premiums.

Sons can be sponsored as dependents until age 25 (this was updated from age 21 in recent rule changes). Unmarried daughters have no age limit. Children with special needs have no age limit regardless of gender.

Yes. Mandatory federal-wide for all dependents since January 2025 (previously mandatory only in Dubai and Abu Dhabi). Without active insurance, the dependent visa cannot be issued or renewed. A basic dependent policy runs AED 600-1,200/year for healthy adults and children; elderly parents typically cost AED 2,000-8,000+.

Sponsor's Emirates ID, salary certificate or labour contract, attested tenancy contract (Ejari in Dubai, Tawtheeq in Abu Dhabi), attested marriage certificate (for spouse), attested birth certificates (for children), passports with 6+ months validity. Foreign documents need attestation up to UAE embassy level.
