Frequently asked questions
UAE pharmacies and insurance systems typically allow refills 5-7 days before the previous pack runs out. Coming earlier than that triggers a 'too early' rejection. Coming on or after the run-out day risks a 1-2 day gap while the pharmacy orders/dispenses. 5 days is the sweet spot for most chronic patients.
Sometimes — for travel, holidays, or when the medicine is hard to source. Most UAE insurers will approve 'vacation overrides' if you call before the trip. Without insurance the patient can buy early at retail price. Discuss with your pharmacist or insurer if the situation is unusual.
Most UAE pharmacies are open 7 days a week, so it's usually fine. But if you're using a hospital outpatient pharmacy or insurance-mandated pharmacy that closes Saturday, the calculator shows the Friday before the weekend as an alternative pickup day.
Yes — the start date is day 1 (the day you opened the pack and took the first dose). A 30-day pack started on June 1 runs out on June 30 (= start + 29 more days). The tool counts this correctly when you pick the start date.
Yes. Missed doses mean leftover units in the pack, which extends the supply. If you take 25 doses out of a 30-tablet pack over 30 days, you have 5 days of unused supply pushing your refill date later. Be honest with the pharmacist about adherence — they can adjust the calculation.
