Why are formulas from US and UK sources?▾
Medical-gas physics and insurance arithmetic are universal — there's no UAE-specific formula for cylinder duration or co-pay arithmetic. We use the most rigorously published sources (NCBI StatPearls for cylinder factors, NHS guidance for BOC sizes, UAE DHA/HAAD policy frameworks for insurance) and verify each value against multiple authorities before publishing.
What cylinder sizes does the oxygen calculator support?▾
Metric (UAE / Europe / UK): 10L and 40L at 200 bar, plus BOC CD (460 L @ 230 bar), HX (2,300 L @ 230 bar), ZX (3,040 L @ 300 bar). Imperial (US): D, E, M, and H/K with standard cylinder factors (0.16, 0.28, 1.56, 3.14). Custom mode lets you enter water capacity or factor for unusual cylinders.
How is UAE pharmacy co-pay structured?▾
UAE health insurance plans typically have a percentage co-pay (commonly 10-20%) plus an annual cap (commonly AED 1,500-3,000 out-of-pocket).
