(2) Service-network depth — every emirate has multiple Toyota service centres, making out-of-warranty ownership cheap. (3) Spare parts availability — both genuine and aftermarket parts flood the market. A 5-year-old Land Cruiser typically retains 55-65% of its purchase price; a 5-year-old Mercedes S-Class retains 35-45%.
Battery technology evolves fast. A 2022 Tesla Model 3 with 350km range looks dated next to a 2026 model with 500km range and faster charging. UAE buyers also worry about battery replacement cost (~AED 80-150k on a Tesla), which suppresses used prices. Expect 20-25% year-1 depreciation on EVs, similar to luxury brands.
